This blog is from an earlier version of this course (Spring 2011) is the second instance of this version of a course on group processes at Ohio University. Our readings, discussions and posts focus on how technological changes shape society and social groups. What are the important social mechanisms present in social interaction that are altered, amplified or made possible by the communication technology? What are the implications of those mechanisms for collective action, network development and individual participation? This blog addresses these types of questions as it documents the development of a course in group processes (Sociology 419/519) previously taught at Ohio University during Fall 2009.
